Bago condemns killing of Galla village head by suspected bandits

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has condemned the killing of the Village Head of Galla in Borgu Emirate, Alhaji Ahmed Yusuf, who was reportedly killed by suspected bandits in his palace.

The deceased was the brother of the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi.

In a condolence message, Governor Bago described the killing of the traditional ruler inside his palace as a disturbing display of the “boldness and high level of insolence” of the bandits.

He called on security agencies to intensify efforts to track down those behind the attack and ensure they are arrested and brought to justice.

Bago also extended his condolences to Senator Sabi Abdullahi, the family of the deceased, the people of Galla and the entire Borgu Emirate over the loss.

The governor described the late traditional ruler as a man who lived a good life and died while defending and serving his people.

He urged the bereaved family and members of the community to draw strength from the legacy left behind by the deceased.

Bago prayed that Allah grant the traditional ruler Aljannatul Firdaus and provide comfort and strength to his family, the Galla community and the people of Borgu Emirate.

He further assured the family and the affected communities of the state government’s continued support during the difficult period.
