No fewer than two persons have been reported dead with several others injured, while as suspected Fulani bandits launched fresh violent attack on the Pwomol village in Heipang District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State on the night of Easter Sunday, April 5th.
Barr. Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, National President of the Berom Youth Moulders-Association, BYM, confirmed the incident in a post he shared on social media shortly after the attack.
He claimed that the terrorists, armed with sophisticated weapons, invaded the community around midnight and began shooting intermittently, killing two young people and injuring numerous others as they attempted to flee into nearby bushes.

According to Mwantiri, this is the second bandits invasion within a week, with the herdsmen taking their time to set fire to homes and food barns.
The BYM President added that one of the attackers, a Fulani man from the Fass community in Riyom Local Government Area who only identified himself as Suleiman, had been captured and turned over to security personnel.

According to him, the suspect was detained by security personnel in Sector 4 of Barkin Ladi LGA after being apprehended at the Redemption Camp area between Heipang and Kassa. Blood stains were allegedly discovered on his body.
The attack comes amid violent attacks carried out by suspected armed bandits on communities in Benue, Kaduna and Katsina on Easter Sunday
He also urged security services to conduct an exhaustive and open investigation into the assault and guarantee that the detained suspect is promptly prosecuted.

The president of BYM insisted that the suspect be forced to divulge important information that might enable the apprehension of additional attackers and accomplices.
