Bandits Raid Police Camp in Kwara, Kill 3 Officers

No fewer than three police officers have been murdered with others severely injured following an attack by suspected terrorists on a Police Mobile Force (PMF) camp in Tenebo community, Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Residents of the rural community fled their homes after intense shooting during the incident, which took place in the early hours of Saturday.

Sources revealed that the attackers came in huge numbers and unexpectedly attacked the PMF camp, overpowering the on-duty cops before killing three and wounding two more.

The Kwara State Police Command, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, also verified the incident.

The most recent attacks highlights the ongoing insecurity in certain areas of Kaiama Local Government Area, where armed groups have frequently attacked security forces and residents.

This came following the gruesome murder of five members of a local forest guard unit in Nuku community, with attackers also burning operational vehicles and facilities on April 10.

The violence follows a February 2026 attack on the Woro and Nuku settlements, where assailants abducted about 176 people—including women and children—and reportedly killed more than 200 others.
