Nigerian Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that maintaining his celebrity lifestyle comes at a significant cost, disclosing that he spends between $200,000 and $300,000 (roughly ₦300 million to ₦400 million) every month.
Speaking during a recent livestream with streamer Davrel, the award-winning singer said his monthly expenses exclude the costs of taking care of his wife, Chioma Adeleke, and other members of his household.
“I spend between $200,000 and $300,000 every month, and that doesn’t even include my wife’s expenses or the rest of my household,” Davido said.
He added that the figure also excludes major luxury purchases, such as high-end cars and jewellery, which further increase his overall spending.
Davido is widely regarded as one of Africa’s biggest music stars and one of the most commercially successful artistes to emerge from the continent. Since breaking into the spotlight with his 2011 hit single Dami Duro, the award-winning singer has built a global brand through chart-topping albums, sold-out concerts, endorsement deals and international collaborations.
Beyond his music, Davido is known for his luxurious lifestyle, often sharing glimpses of his expensive cars, designer fashion, jewellery, private jet trips and lavish vacations on social media. The singer has also gained a reputation for his generosity, frequently supporting friends, family members and members of his crew, many of whom travel with him to performances and public events around the world.
Over the years, Davido has spoken openly about the financial responsibilities that come with fame, noting that being a global entertainer extends far beyond making music. Maintaining a large team, ensuring security, organising travel logistics and sustaining a celebrity lifestyle require significant financial commitments.
It was against this backdrop that the Afrobeats star revealed during a recent livestream with streamer Davrel that he spends between $200,000 and $300,000 (approximately ₦300 million to ₦400 million) every month. According to him, the amount does not cover the expenses of his wife, Chioma Adeleke, other members of his household or major luxury purchases such as high-end cars and jewellery, highlighting the enormous cost of maintaining his lifestyle and career.
