President Bola Tinubu has reflected on the challenges he faced during his long journey to becoming Nigeria’s President.
He made the remarks on Friday in Lagos while receiving members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, led by Vice President Kashim Shettima, during a Sallah homage at his residence.
Bola Tinubu expressed appreciation to several governors who supported him from the early stages of his political ambition, commending their loyalty, patience, and resilience throughout the process.
He described the journey as difficult, noting that it required endurance and determination from both himself and his allies.
According to him, he chose to confront the obstacles head-on rather than avoid them, even when the political struggle became intense.
He said the process of securing the presidency was demanding, but some of his supporters remained committed despite the uncertainty.
Bola Tinubu also revealed that he made the decision to pursue his presidential ambition without fully disclosing his plans to everyone at the time.
He thanked those who took political risks alongside him, driven by their belief in the party platform and shared objectives.
