President Bola Tinubu is currently presiding over a high-level security meeting with service chiefs, intelligence heads, and the Inspector-General of Police.
The meeting is taking place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
It comes amid a recent surge in attacks on military formations by terrorist groups in different parts of the country.
Those in attendance at the closed-door session include the Chief of Defence Staff, the National Security Adviser, the Chiefs of Army, Navy, and Air Staff, as well as the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), and the Inspector-General of Police.
As of the time of filing this report, details of the discussions have not yet been made public.
