The Nigerian movie Everybody Loves Jenifa by Funke Akindele has hit a total of N16.8 million in its advance screenings alone. This could be another box-office Christmas sensation for Akindele, who has enjoyed fame, finances, and success with her movie character “Jenifa.”
FilmOne Entertainment is the movie’s official local distributor, and Nile Media is the international distributor for Everybody Loves Jenifa.
Nile Media made an announcement on their Instagram handle after securing the international distributor contract. The statement reads, “Nile Media Entertainment proudly announces international theatrical distribution for Everybody Loves Jenifa, the first Nigerian film to be released in 30 countries across 6 continents.”
This will be a first for a Nollywood movie and especially for Akindele, whose last movie, A Tribe Called Judah, grossed over N1.5 billion.
Everybody Loves Jenifa boasts a super lineup of Nollywood’s hot talents and popular celebrities such as Stan Nze, Falz, Layi Wasabi, Nancy Isime, Omowunmi Dada, Odunlade, Femi Adebayo, Ruth Kadiri, and Ghana’s hottest export, Jackie Appiah.
