Hope for Ebonyi: FG Disburses N738.8m to Entrepreneurs

The Bank of Industry (BOI) mentioned that a total of 14,776 busines owners in Ebonyi have benefited from the presidential Grants scheme in the state.

Mr Chukwudi Asiegbu, the bank of industry manager in Ebonyi state, stated this during a town hall meeting on the grant scheme’s outcome on Friday in Abakaliki. Asiegbu announced that each beneficiary received N50, 000 amounting to N738.8 million.

The beneficiaries cut across almost 13 local govt areas of the state. 14,776 persons received a sum of N50,000 each.’’ Mr Asiegbu added that the FG has also unfazed a N75B loan to support MSME nationwide.

He also mentioned that the programme has three phrases, The first one which he has mentioned and the second phrase is the N75billion MSMEs loan where business owners receive up N5million. The third is the N75billion manufacturers fund. this is designed to support industrial-scale enterprise.

According to him the N75 billion loans nationwide, was designed for registered business owners, and the business can access a maximum of N5million with a competitive interest rate of 9% through BOI
