Lokpobiri on fuel price hike: Dangote’s petrol set to enter market by September 15.
Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Heineken Lokpobiri, clarified that the recent petrol price hike is not government-controlled due to the deregulated nature of the sector. He assured that fuel availability will improve, stabilizing prices. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) confirmed that petrol from the Dangote Refinery will enter the market on September 15, 2024, which is expected to influence prices positively. The NNPCL emphasized that market forces and foreign exchange rates are now the primary determinants of fuel prices.
