Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, the current Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has announced that NYSC corp members would start benefiting from the minimum wage of N77,000.
He stated this during a staff bus commission donated to the agency by Capital Express Insurance Company. He said they have reached the concluding stage for the allowances to finally be paid.
While addressing the reason for the occasion of the staff bus donation, Ahmed assured all Corp members that 2025 will be a good year as their welfare and security will be prioritized more.
He further emphasized that he is aware of the transportation difficulties amidst the economic woes for both staff and corp members in the NYSC scheme and that the donated bus will provide ease in transportation.
Mr. Matthew Ogwezhi, Chief Executive Officer, Capital Express Insurance Company, said his company and NYSC have been in a good partnership for a while and that the donation was part of the partnership to support the activities of the scheme.
Ogwezhi said the bus donated by his company was to make transportation to and fro in Abuja easy for the staff of the NYSC scheme.
Furthermore, he said, the company is poised to set a legacy, and this is just one of them.
