ONLY FOR THE RICH! Trump Introduces $5M ‘Gold Card’ for U.S. Residency
President Donald Trump mentioned that America would be selling to rich foreigners what he termed a “gold card.”
The gold card, according to Trump, would allow rich foreigners to live and work in the United States, offering a path to citizenship in return for a payment of $5 million.

The announcement was made on Tuesday while Trump met reporters in the Oval Office.
Trump explained that selling the gold card visa would help attract job creators and might also be a means to cut down on the national deficit of the US.

According to Trump, “We’re going to be selling a gold card. You have a green card; this is a gold card. We’re going to be putting a price on that card of about $5 million.”
Republican Trump, who has made the deportation of millions of unauthorized migrants a centerpiece of his second term, indicated that the new card would be a pathway to coveted US citizenship.

“A lot of people are going to want to be in this country, and they’ll be able to work and provide jobs and build companies,” Trump said. “It’ll be people with money.”
The sale of the cards would open in about two weeks, Trump mentioned.
“We’ll be able to sell maybe a million of these cards. We have it all worked out from a legal standpoint,” Trump added.
The billionaire real-estate tycoon said that all the applicants for the new gold cards would be screened properly thereafter.
But when asked whether wealthy Russians would qualify too, Trump said, “That’s a possibility.”

“Possibly. I know some Russian oligarchs that are very nice people. It’s possible,” Trump said. “They’re not as wealthy as they used to be. I think they can. I think they can afford $5 million.”
Western sanctions imposed on numerous Russian oligarchs came into force immediately following Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine nearly three years ago.
The US president caused a stir among the European capitals by unexpectedly moderating the negotiations with Russia to anchor the war amid the fears that he may consider selling Ukraine short.
At a later news conference, the US president nominally mentioned that, “Lifting sanctions on Russia is possible at some point,” but presently, it was not an issue on the table.
Howard Lutnick, secretary of commerce, standing alongside Trump in the White House, asserted that the gold cards “we can use that money to reduce our deficit.”

Trump was heard saying that there are rumors that the cards may even be named after him.
“Somebody said, ‘Can we call it the Trump gold card?’ I said, ‘If it helps, use the name Trump,’” he said.
