Palliative-Laden NUJ Bus Attacked; Several Injured.
Hoodlums attacked a bus carrying palliatives belonging to the NUJ Cross River State Council. The vehicle, en route to the NUJ Secretariat, was pelted with stones, resulting in the theft of food items and injuries to those on board. The bus driver, Joseph Akpaenin, was left with a battered shoulder and had his phone stolen. The attackers were distracted when the bus’s boot opened, spilling bags of rice and garri, allowing the driver to escape.
