POS Operators Launch Bold Fight Against Fraud in Nasarawa
Some unscrupulous Point of Sales (PoS) agents perpetrating scams and cheating in Nasarawa State will soon be history, as such offenders will be rightly punished.
This formed part of the reason why the state chapter of the Association of Mobile Money and Banking Agents in Nigeria (AMMBAN) formed a 6-man Joint Task Force to handle the menace of fraud in the state.
Noah Enesata, State AMMBAN Chairman, noting that the task force was to provide secure and efficient financial services through POS agents in the state added, “On that note, because the fraudulent acts have been on the increase, leading to the decision to set up the task force, we are hoping that soon it should finalize measures for CP security coverage soon.

The Members of Task Force are expected to work with corresponding security agencies and other associated stakeholders in achieving its aims and objectives within the shortest time.
Therefore, he assured that the association fully committed in tackling financial crimes typically perpetrated via POS across Nasarawa State.
He said, “Bringing together the AMMBAN Joint Task Force is primarily to combat fraud. This is because, for one reason or the other, there are some people now scared of using POS machines upon their bank transactions because fraudsters now are relying heavily on agency banking.
“Some of these include: are cases of where armed robbers and kidnappers are using POS machines to steal from persons and collect certain ransom from their victims, among other activities.”
