In a panic state and not willing to lose the fanbase they have built, American creators on TikTok have started to redirect their fans to other short video platforms to watch their content due to TikTok risking being banned in the US.
A federal court has insisted TikTok could face a ban in the US if it’s not sold to a US company by Chinese’s ByteDance. This comes after the US Congress expressed concerns over the app’s ability to access private information of Americans.
This ban has been speculated over the years, and it seems it’s coming to be a reality, with creators on the social media app wondering what would happen next.
However, creators have started redirecting their followers to follow them on other platforms as a safety measure should they get banned eventually.
Others are suggesting that they will eventually sell or workout some form of financial arrangements with a US company due to the fact they just launched TikTok Shop in September 2023 and would not want to lose the $100 million sales growth it recorded on November’s Black Friday.
The Federal Appeal Court has set January 19, 2025, as the deadline for the social media app to comply.
Would they still be a force to be reckoned with if they get banned in the US?
