Pastor Biodun Oladele, a Nigerian clergyman, has issued a number of prophesies for 2026 that warn of significant political, economic, and security upheavals throughout the nation, including an anticipated coup attempt and the unannounced resignation of a sitting governor.
Speaking during a prophecy for the upcoming year, Pastor Oladele said that 2026 would be a “highly dramatic” and pivotal year for Nigeria, pointing out that unprecedented occurrences will occur and influence the country’s future.
He believed that the prophecy of a coup attempt would fail because it would be silenced by supernatural intervention. The purported action would come from the country’s north, he continued.

“The President should not think the battle is over,” the cleric warned, claiming that there are individuals within government circles working as fifth columnists with the intent to sabotage the administration.
Pastor Oladele also foresaw the extraordinary loss of a sitting governor’s position, characterising the event as a nationwide indication that “God is changing times and seasons.”
He added that another governor would be forced to run for safety, while a different state governor would face grave danger ahead of the 2027 elections and would require urgent prayers.
Regarding the economy, the cleric noted that although 2026 will be a dry year financially, those who recognise strategic possibilities will prosper.
Despite rising food prices, he anticipated that agriculture will provide riches to many Nigerians. Additionally, he predicted that the naira will strengthen vs the US dollar early in the year before falling once more in late February or early March.
He predicted staff layoffs at certain financial institutions, issues with an online banking platform, the rise of another significant online scam, and impending job losses in the banking industry.
Additionally, Pastor Oladele asserted that in 2026, oil fraud would be revealed nationwide.
In addition to the coup, the priest predicted unprecedented weather patterns characterised by intense heat and erratic rains, addressing security and environmental concerns.
He asked Nigerians to pray against fire-related natural calamities and a significant flood that would devastate homes and crops. Additionally, he issued a warning about a toxic food product that was purportedly being manufactured by “northern enemies,” but he reassured believers that they would be protected by God.

In the religious and entertainment sectors, Pastor Oladele predicted that the church would be glorified, while churches operating in falsehood would be exposed.
Many young clergy, he claimed, are under spiritual attack and might be replaced if they continue to be sidetracked. Additionally, he warned of attacks on well-known music ministers and asked for prayers for a well-known gospel pastor he stated will be involved in an accident.
The cleric also predicted that a former head of state would pass away in 2026, that a “father of faith” would leave a void in the Christian world, and that a well-known musical icon whose influence would last forever would pass away.
