Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), welcomed representatives of the Rivers State All Progressives Congress (APC) to his home in Abuja on Thursday.
Victor Giadom, the recently returned APC National Vice Chairman (South-South), senators, members of the House of Representatives, and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly are among those in attendance.
Several senators, members of the House of Representatives, Martins Amaewhule, Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, members of the State Assembly, and other senior APC leaders from the state are among the other notable attendees.
The gathering is believed to be part of strategic discussions ahead of the 2026 APC National Convention and future political alignments in Rivers State.
Notably, Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, did not attend the gathering.Given that he interacts extensively with APC stakeholders from his home state, this development highlights Wike’s ongoing influence within Rivers political circles even after he left the PDP.
