A search crew made up of security guards and local vigilantes searched the woodland yesterday but was still unable to find him. Reports revealed that while his kidnappers did answer his calls, they did not demand a ransom, raising suspicions that he may have been murdered.

According to Boniface Igboji, a relative of the deceased church leader, “I spoke with my brother yesterday when we were in Daudu but didn’t know he would depart this earth today through these murderous Fulani jihadists.” He reported that the people who killed his relative returned his calls and notified the family that their brother had passed away.

Similarly, in Tse Atsem, Borikyo village in Ukum Local Council, another farmer, Mr. Iorpev Terngu, was also killed by machete on his land. Previously, suspected herders stormed into the home of William Tyough, a resident of Ukohol village, which is about four kilometres from Yelwata along the Makurdi-Lafia route. They tied his hands behind his back, killed him, and set fire to his motorbike.

Findings by news correspondents revealed that Both Ukohol, Udei and Yogbo are in the same Nyiev ward as Yelwata , Benue state, where over 200 were recently massacred by herdsmen.
