Amotekun Parades Ex-Cons, Prison Escapee in Osun
Osun Amotekun Corps operatives have arrested six suspected criminals, including ex-convicts and a prison escapee, for armed robbery, burglary, and theft.
The suspects were arrested in different locations throughout the state, following information received from intelligence.

Osun Amotekun Corps Commander Adekunle Isaac Omoyele made this known while parading the suspects in Osogbo on Friday, April 18, 2025.
Omoyele said a prison escapee named John Uba was arrested for armed robbery on Thursday, April 18, 2025, at Fiwasaye in Osogbo.
He said that the investigation revealed that the suspect had earlier escaped while in custody at the Nigeria Police Ota-Efun Division.
The Osun Amotekun chief also mentioned that Uba said he was a repeat offender.
“Intelligence report was received from the Fiwasaye area in Osogbo on the scene of an armed robbery. Our officers swung into action and arrested one of the culprits, John Uba, 26, for stealing mobile phones and other valuables,” he said.
“Further investigation revealed that the suspect had previously escaped from the Ota-Efun Division of the Nigeria Police Force. He also confessed to being a repeat offender.”

“The suspect has since been handed over to the Ota-Efun Police Division for further investigation and prosecution.”
Other suspects paraded include 28-year-old Aderemi Sheriff who was arrested for stealing electricity cables worth N5.6 million at Hemmed Omidiran University, Kola Balogun area, Osogbo.
Investigations revealed that Sheriff was also an ex-convict for cable theft.
Another suspect, Saheed Babatunde,26 years old, was arrested on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Isale-Osun area of Osogbo, for theft of Iron steel valued at N280,000, with the report of a concerned citizen.
Omoyele also stated that Babatunde has served a prison term for similar offenses.
Idowu Tajudeen, 27, Bamanga Geoffrey 24, and Femi Adeniyi, 22, persons were arrested by personnel of the security outfit for allegedly breaking into a residence and stealing a pumping machine and other valuables worth N8.5 million in GRA, Osogbo.
Omoyele has urged the people of Osun State to continue to lend their support to the security outfit by keeping watch and reporting any suspicious entities to the Amotekun Corps or other security agencies.

He assured that they will not rest until they purge the entire state of criminal elements.
“Criminals may run, but they can’t hide,” he stated.He also said the suspects would be prosecuted accordingly.
