Dangote: IOCs Trying to Undermine Our Refinery
Devakumar Edwin, Vice President of Oil and Gas at Dangote Industries Limited, has accused International Oil Companies (IOCs) in Nigeria of deliberately sabotaging Dangote Oil Refinery by inflating local crude prices, forcing the refinery to import crude at high costs. Edwin also criticized the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) for granting licenses to import dirty diesel and jet fuel, despite Dangote Refinery’s ability to meet domestic demand and export surplus clean fuel to Europe. He called for government support and stricter adherence to Petroleum Industry Act regulations to protect Nigeria’s economy and environment
