Effective Saturday, September 12, 2026, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has increased Petrol Gantry Price from N1,265 to N1,350 per litre.
Recall that NaijaEyes had previously reported that rising global crude oil costs would likely trigger additional upward adjustments in domestic petrol prices.
This latest adjustment represents the fourth increase in fuel gantry rates at the Dangote facility since August 21.
The refinery initially raised the price per litre from N1,165 to N1,185 on August 21, followed by a revision to N1,200 on August 26 and N1,265 on August 29. The latest N85-per-litre increase brings the current gantry price to N1,350.
Through these sequential upward revisions, the refinery’s petrol price has surged by N185 per litre—representing approximately a 15.9% increase—within a 22-day span.
The Group Commercial Operations unit of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals communicated the revised tariffs to distributors in a circular issued late Friday.
The circular read, “Dear Valued Customer, please find below the revised DPRP PMS gantry and coastal prices, which are effective from 12th September 2026:
“Coastal (MT): The old price of ₦1,669,545 has been revised to ₦1,783,530. Gantry (LTR): The old price of ₦1,265 per litre has been revised to ₦1,350 per litre.
“You are advised to return all ATCs for repricing, and a new volume contract will be issued for immediate resumption of loading.
“Should you require any further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact us.”
Additionally, Petroleumprice.ng also confirmed that the new gantry price stands at N1,350 per litre, while the coastal delivery price was also adjusted from N1,669,545 to N1,783,530 per metric tonne.
Backstory…
The hike in petrol gantry price by Dangote refinery comes less that twenty four hours after reports disclosed that Nigerian petroleum product traders, marketers, depot owners and refiners were considering another petrol price hike as crude oil prices climb above $105 per barrel.
According to source’s survey of crude oil prices on Friday, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) and Brent crude traded at $105.5 and $100.8 per barrel, respectively. Brent crude had reached $107 per barrel on Thursday before falling to $105.5 per barrel on Friday.
This comes amid recent escalation and retaliatory strikes between the US and Iran, amid the ongoing conflict.
