Davido Opens Up on His Children Asking Why They Have Different Mothers

Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has spoken candidly about co-parenting his children with different women, revealing that some of his children have questioned him about their family dynamics.

Speaking during an interview with the BBC, the singer disclosed that his two eldest daughters, Imade and Hailey, had at different times asked why they have different mothers and why they do not live with him.

Davido also explained that his personal life has influenced his music career, recalling that his first daughter, Imade, once questioned him after seeing him surrounded by several women in one of his music videos on television.

He said, “My children are coming of age and they have started asking why they have different moms and why don’t they live with me and stuff that kids ask.

“One day, my first daughter walked up to me and said, ‘Daddy, I saw you on TV holding and dancing with two girls’.”

Davido said he makes a conscious effort to remain actively involved in the lives of all his children despite the challenges of co-parenting.

The Afrobeats star is a father of six. He and his wife, Chioma Adeleke, are parents to twins and previously lost their first son together, Ifeanyi, in a tragic incident.

His other children include Imade, born in 2015 to Sophia Momodu; Hailey Veronica Adeleke, born in 2017 to Amanda; and Dawson Adeleke, born in 2020 to model Larissa Yasmin Lorenco.
