A senatorial aspirant of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Nasarawa North, Duba Ishaya Dodo, has officially resigned from the party with immediate effect.

Dodo conveyed his decision in a letter dated April 21, 2026, addressed to the SDP chairman of his Gudi Ward in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
In the letter, he stated that his resignation came after what he described as deep reflection and careful evaluation of recent developments within the party.
He explained that despite his efforts and contributions to the party’s growth at different levels, he could no longer remain a member, citing a growing disconnect between his political expectations and the party’s current direction.

According to him, remaining in the party would no longer support his goal of effective political representation, as its structure and internal processes no longer align with the values that initially drew him in.
Dodo also requested that his name be removed from the party’s membership register and all official records.
