US President Donald Trump has shown major defiance for the supreme court and its justices by raising global tariffs on goods imported from 10 percent to 15 percent.
The ruling was revealed in a Truth Social post on Saturday, just day after the US Supreme Court overturned his earlier, all-encompassing international tariffs.
Recall that President Donald Trump in response to the initial ruling had stated that he was “absolutely ashamed” of some of the justices who voted in favour of rescinding his order.

The US president reemphasized his stance in his Saturday post, calling the court’s decision “ridiculous, poorly written, and extraordinarily anti-American”.
“Please let this statement serve to represent that I, as President of the United States of America, will be, effective immediately, raising the 10% Worldwide Tariff on Countries, many of which have been ‘ripping’ the U.S. off for decades, without retribution (until I came along!), to the fully allowed, and legally tested, 15% level,” Trump said.

Donald Trump stated that during the next “short number” of months, his administration will decide on and implement the additional tariffs.
Prior to the Supreme Court upholding a lower court’s conclusion that Trump’s use of the 1977 International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) to impose the tariffs was illegal, the tariffs were scheduled to go into effect on February 24.

The court decided, 6–3, that Trump had overstepped by using a provision intended for national crises to impose sweeping import levies without the consent of Congress.
The ruling does, however, permit the continuation of some duties on particular items from particular nations, which may provide the administration with a way to reorganise some aspects of its trade strategy.
