The convicted individuals—Idemudia Destiny, Osifo Destiny, Nomanidobo Favour, Dauda Ahmed, David Samuel, and Wisdom John—were charged separately with one count each, involving impersonation, obtaining by false pretence, possession of fraudulent documents, and retention of proceeds of crime.

All six pleaded guilty to the offenses in Edo Court, While the prosecution counsel, K.Y. Bello, urged the court to convict and sentence them, the defense counsel appealed for leniency, highlighting their remorse.

Justice Itsueli consequently sentenced each convict to two years imprisonment, with an option to pay a ₦200,000 fine instead in Edo Court.
