EFCC operatives had earlier conducted a raid at the OOPL premises, leading to the arrest of 93 individuals suspected of cybercrime-related activities.
According to a statement released on Thursday by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, 23 of the 93 suspects will be arraigned before Justice D. Dipeolu at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Oyewale, who revealed that other suspects would be arraigned in batches, said that upon profiling, almost all of them were indicted for alleged offences bordering on impersonation, identity fraud, and internet fraud.
He said they were arrested at a pool party in a hotel within the OOPL premises, where they were believed to be using the event as cover for their crimes, stressing that the former president’s facility was not the target, but the suspects.
Oyewale said the suspects had already confessed to their involvement in internet fraud, adding that other batches would be arraigned in the near future.
