The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has invited former AGF attorney general Abubakar Malami.
Malami declared that as a law-abiding citizen, he would accept the invitation.

In a succinct statement that was shared on his Facebook page, he disclosed the information and stated that accepting the invitation is a reflection of his commitment to transparency and accountability in public service.
“I hereby reaffirm my commitment to honour the invitation,” he said.
“I understand the spirit of accountability and transparency in public service — the principles that I both advocate and champion.”

The ex-sgf reiterated his commitment to transparency in subjects pertaining to public trust and promised to keep Nigerians updated on developments.
Recall that Birnin Kebbi, the capital of Kebbi state, his convoy was attacked on September 1 by alleged political thugs.
Malami filed a petition on September 10 with the national security adviser (NSA), the inspector general of police (IGP), the director general of the DSS, and the comptroller generals of immigration and civil defence corps regarding a purported scheme to destabilise Kebbi state by bringing in political thugs.

Recall that he received an invitation from the DSS regarding the attack on September 22.Following which he announced on November 17 that he would run for Kebbi state governor in 2027.
Malami joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after leaving the APC in July.
