The #30DaysRantChallenge, a social media movement where Nigerian youths express their frustration and dissatisfaction with the current administration, led by President Tinubu has gained significant traction online. The movement aims to bring attention of the Tinubu led administration to the country’s economic hardship, particularly the high cost of living and surge in food prices.

The #30daysRantchallenge was lauched by NYSC member Rita Uguamsye Ushie, encourages Nigerians to share their experiences and frustrations on the state of the country.  However, Ushie faced backlash and intimidation from APC members and the NYSC board after speaking out against the administration.

Recall that NaijaEyes reported that the corps member faces intimidation and threats from APC members after she released a video of her on second day of the challenge.

A social media user took to his TikTok account to call out blogs for not promoting the #30daysRantchallenge, urging bloggers and others to use their platforms to promote the cause and other Nigerian youths to keep making their videos.

Following this, the #30daysRantchallenge movement has gained momentum, with many Nigerians joining in to share their stories and demand change.

Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has also lent his support, urging Nigerians to participate in the challenge and demand accountability from the government.

However, the movement has also faced opposition, with reports of content creators being arrested and harassed by police men. One Stanley_ontop, a social media user, shared his experience on Instagram, stating that he and others were arrested, beaten, and detained for three hours for creating content about the challenge.

He wrote: “Content creators were arrested yesterday for participating in the 30daysrant challenge… @Oparaimo__ was arrested alongside his team for a no offence rant. This country eeeehh. I dey come, make I start my own rant, Ndi ala”.
