The nominees for the 2025 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards(AMVCA) has been officially announced by the event’s organisers. This year’s nominations covers a wide range of film, television, and digital content that was released between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024.
The AMVCA organisers stated that several productions have emerged as top contenders, earning multiple nominations across various categories. These notable mentions include Lisabi: The Uprising, Skeleton Coast, House of Ga’a, and Freedom Way, all of which are in the running for prestigious awards such as Best Movie and Best Director.
In the acting categories, a talented group of individuals has been recognised for their outstanding performances. Gideon Okeke, Stan Nze, Femi Adebayo, and Adedimeji Lateef have all been nominated for Best Lead Actor, with their notable roles in Tokunbo, Suspicion, Seven Doors, and Lisabi: The Uprising, respectively. Meanwhile, Chioma Chukwuka, Bimbo Ademoye, and Uche Montana are among the talented actresses vying for Best Lead Actress, thanks to their impressive performances in Seven Doors, Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre, and Thinline.
Following the release of the AMVCA nominee list, the AMVCA organisers have also disclosed directives on voting for each category of choice.
