The governor of Benue State Rev. Hyacinth Alia, has reportedly appointed Nigerian singer Innocent “2Face” Idibia as his technical adviser on community outreach and entertainment.
The 2Baba Foundation visited Government House in Makurdi and verified the appointment, which aims to harness the entertainer’s influence to increase cultural participation and grassroots development.

Known for its efforts to promote peace and empower young people, the 2Baba Foundation met with the governor to discuss strategic alliances to improve community projects and talent development throughout the state. Idibia, who originally hails from Benue State, attended the meeting with the state governor with his new lover, Natasha.
Governor Alia expressed hope that the appointment would close the gap between the government and creative industries and commended Idibia’s longstanding influence on Nigeria’s music scene and his dedication to social advocacy.

This new appointment is coming barely 24 hours after the Benue state governor gave a statement on the rising death doll in the state as a result of the continuous herdsmen attacks on communities including Otukpo and several others.
On Tuesday, Governor Alia confirming fresh attacks also stated that the attackers were not Nigerians, adding that they spoke a different kind of language.
2Face Idibia is expected to spearhead projects that support entertainment as a development tool, encourage community involvement, and promote Benue’s cultural heritage.
