The Lagos State Coroner’s Court in Ikorodu has recommended the criminal prosecution of auxiliary nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe in connection with the death of popular Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad.

Delivering the court’s findings on Friday, during the coroner, Magistrate C.A. Shotobi stated that Ogedengbe acted with gross negligence by administering an injection to Mohbad without a valid prescription from a licensed medical doctor.
While the court ruled out foul play or homicide in the singer’s death, it concluded that the nurse’s conduct was both unlawful and professionally irresponsible.
“In line with Section 29 of the Coroner Laws of Lagos State, this court recommends that the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, initiate appropriate legal action against Feyisayo Ogedengbe for unauthorized medical practice and gross negligence,” Magistrate Shotobi stated.

Ogedengbe was initially arrested in connection with Mohbad’s death, which occurred under controversial circumstances on September 11, 2023, sparking national outrage and public calls for a thorough investigation.
During her testimony before the court in March 2025, Ogedengbe admitted to administering a tetanus injection to the late singer, after which he reportedly began vomiting and experienced adverse reactions.
