Davido vows to protect manager Asa Asika’s union

Nigerian Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, commonly known as Davido has shared a emotional message in celebration of his longtime friend and manager, Asa Asika, on the occasion of his wedding to his fiancée, Leona Adesanya.

Close friends and loved ones gathered in Lagos on Saturday to witness the momentous occasion of the traditional wedding ceremony.

Davido took to his X (formerly Twitter) page to consider their path together, from humble beginnings to international recognition.

He remembered how, in spite of the demands of celebrity, he and Asa toiled diligently to advance their professions while remaining grounded and devoted to their heritage.

Davido praised Asa’s friendship and persistent support for him, saying he was more than just a manager.

Davido wrote, “Asa, today shattered me… in the most beautiful way. Seeing you stand beside Leonna, with peace in your eyes and love in your heart — I couldn’t hold it in. Not just because of the man you’ve become, but because of how you became him,” he wrote.

“Nothing was handed to us. We built this — through fire, through faith, through a bond that never broke. We didn’t chase the spotlight. We stayed rooted. Loyal to our story, loyal to our people. We didn’t sell out — we carried the culture, even when it felt heavy.
