Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo has filed a petition with the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, alleging misconduct by officers of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCC) and social media activist VeryDarkMan.
The petition, submitted through her legal team, The Maverick Forte Legal, on July 29, 2025, accuses the NPF-NCC of professional misconduct during her recent interrogation at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
In the widely circulated petition, Iyabo Ojo claimed that during the interrogation, VeryDarkMan a civilian and a defendant in a separate case in which she serves as a witness was granted unauthorized access to the interrogation room, raising serious concerns about due process and conflict of interest.
The document also claims that the Commissioner of Police, CP Ifeanyi Henry Uche, granted VeryDarkMan access to the interrogation room due to his improper relationship with him, noting that details of her private session with the police were leaked online by VeryDarkMan.
While vowing to stop attending sessions at the Abuja office, the actress called for the case to be transferred to Lagos, for an independent investigation, and for an end to “tainted and partial inquiry.”
It was reported that Iyabo Ojo was invited by the police for calling out Naira Marley over his alleged involvement in singer Mohbad’s death.
