A 27-year-old man allegedly published his own obituary in a desperate bid to escape paying a debt owed to PalmPay, a fin-tech company.
The man had allegedly borrowed money from PalmPay, but was unable to repay the loan, prompting him to take the unusual step.
In a shocking move, he took to publishing his own obituary, seemingly in an attempt to avoid paying back the debt.
This drastic measure has sparked a mountain of reaction and conversations about the lengths people will go to avoid debt payment. While some persons have condemned the man’s actions, some others have also stated that the released obituary poster could be the handwork of PalmPay as a means to get the debtor to pay up his loan.
