May Edochie, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has initiated legal proceedings against her former lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, accusing him of cyberbullying, defamation, and cyberstalking.
In a cease-and-desist notice issued by her legal representatives, Graylaw Partners, May alleged that Ugwuonye had consistently shared harmful and defamatory content about her on social media.
The letter further stated that his actions not only defamed her character but also subjected her to public ridicule, harassment, and malicious attacks, posing a threat to her personal safety.
“These posts are a calculated assault on our client’s reputation and have further imperiled her safety through malicious threats and false allegations.
Beyond your own publications, you have incited third parties to amplify these communications, causing her severe and irreparable harm.”
As part of May Edochie demands, May requested that Ugwuonye immediately halt all defamatory publications, retract the posts already made, and issue a public apology across all his platforms.
May Edochie is also seeking ₦1 billion in damages as compensation for the alleged harm caused.
The notice warned that failure to comply could result in further legal proceedings.
