Mohbad’s father seeks a court order to overturn DPP’s ruling on his son’s death.
The father of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad Joseph Aloba has filed a lawsuit at the High Court of Lagos State regarding his son’s death.
The Attorney General and the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) have been listed as the first and second respondents in the case, registered under file number ID/6197MJR/2025.
Through his lawyer, Dr. Wahab Shittu (SAN), Aloba is requesting a judicial review specifically an order of certiorari to challenge the legal advice issued by the Attorney General’s office and the DPP concerning Mohbad’s death.
In the main motion, the applicant seeks a court order to annul the DPP’s legal advice. decision or recommendation related to the murder case of the late Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba also known as Mohbad along with any other detectives the court deems appropriate.
Additionally, in the ex-parte motion, Mohbad’s father is seeking permission to present their matter before the court , aiming to have the DPP’s legal advice, decision or recommendation quashed, along with any further orders the court finds necessary.
As of now, no hearing date has been set for the case.
