Mercy Chinwo, I’m sorry: VDM responds to N1.1 billion lawsuit, pleads for reduction while singing in a new video.
Social media critic Martins Otse aka Verydarkman has finally broken his silence on gospel singer Mercy Chinwo’s legal action against him.
Mercy Chinwo has taken Verydarkman to court over allegations of defamation of character. This follows his involvement in her ongoing legal dispute with her former manager and record label boss, Eezee Tee.

A court document dated March 3, 2025 revealed that Mercy Chinwo is seeking N1.1 billion in damages from Verydarkman for defamation.
Verydarkman has reacted to gospel singer Mercy Chinwo’s N1.1 billion defamation lawsuit against him.
In a video, the social media critic jokingly apologized to Mercy Chinwo while singing one of her popular songs.
He said: “I no get money o, even the money wey dey NGO no reach like that,”Â
He also listed the various lawsuits filed against him and speculated on the amount he might have to pay if he loses case.
He stated that he wouldn’t be able to pay for the damages against him if he lost the cases in court. A clip also showed VDM singing Mercy Chinwo’s hit song Excess Love as he sent his message to the singer to reduce the compensation.
VDM wrote in a caption tagging Mercy Chinwo:
“Body of Christ done Sue, dear mercy chinwo I am sorry,”Â
