Popular entertainer Darlington Okoye, better known by his stage name Speed Darlington, has been declared wanted by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons’ (NAPTIP) for alleged acts including, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.
The incident occurred after Speed Darlington did not show up for NAPTIP’s interrogation after he claimed to have had sex with a 15-year-old girl in a widely shared Instagram video.
He had stated in the video that he had to pay N2,000 to the hotel staff to have the sheets changed. He expressed his disdain for working for anyone, especially in a hotel, by saying, “Before they would come to change the sheets for me, I had to give N2,000.”
He added, “It’s a difficult situation to ask an adult to come and clean up the blood that I caused from the body of a 15-year-old girl. I can never work for anyone, no way. I only work for myself.”
Speed Darlington suggested a another date of June 26 but failed to appear, citing prior commitments.
In response to his plea, NAPTIP rejected his proposed date, emphasizing that the issue was of urgent national importance and gave him another opportunity to appear on June 2, 2025.
NAPTIP issued a wanted notice for Speed Darlington after he failed to adhere to the revised deadline, requesting that anyone with reliable information regarding his whereabouts get in touch with the organisation.
This is coming after Speed Darlington apologized to fans in another video stating that as an artiste, controversy is important to his career.
