Media personality and public figure, Toke Makinwa has urged people to maintain their relationship standards, pointing out that there are many potential partners in the world.
Toke Makinwa suggested that instead of giving in to peer pressure or criticism, people should look for partners who fulfil their expectations on a recent episode of her podcast.

“It’s more productive to move on rather than criticise what doesn’t align with one’s values,” she said, challenging the practice of shaming others for their preferences, especially financial demands in partnerships.
“There’s no need to attack someone for wanting more,” she said. “If their standard doesn’t suit you, keep it moving. There are billions of people in the world.”
Toke Makinwa also condemned the culture of online debates and judging of personal relationship decisions, arguing that such activity frequently results from insecurity rather than any actual flaw in the individual being judged.
Toke Makinwa said: “Don’t need to lower your standards. Honestly, if this, listen, there are over a billion people in this world, right? You can go and find somebody who has what you’re looking for. Stop letting society dictate.
“If you say, oh, this girl is a money-hungry b!tch. All she wants is a man to pay her bills. If you can’t pay her bills, leave.
“There’s another guy who does what he’s looking for. I feel like we make things harder than it is with fighting online and our opinions, and trying to shout on top of each other. If somebody is not what you’re looking for, cease the urge to start trying to pinpoint what is wrong with them, because it’s actually a reflection of you and not them.
