Verydarkman Accuses Bobrisky of Bribing EFCC

Nigerian cross-dresser Idris Okuneye Olanrewaju, better known as Bobrisky, has broken his silence regarding the serious allegations made by social media activist Verydarkman (VDM). In a leaked voice recording, VDM claimed Bobrisky bribed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with N15 million to clear his name from a money laundering case, which resulted in his avoidance of a prison sentence.

The accusations have caused an online stir, especially since Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in prison for money laundering in April 2024. However, according to VDM, the influencer never served his sentence but instead paid his way out.

EFCC Reacts to the Allegations

Following the viral voice recording, Dele Oyewale, EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, issued a statement confirming that the EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, has ordered an investigation into the claims. The accusations have raised questions about the integrity of the EFCC and whether officials accepted bribes in exchange for Bobrisky’s release.

Bobrisky Denies the Claims

In response to the controversy, Bobrisky took to Instagram to refute the allegations. He denied bribing the EFCC, claiming that the voice recording was false. The cross-dresser asserted that he had served his prison sentence in full and did not pay any money to evade it. He wrote, “My attention has been drawn to a fake voice recording circulating on the internet that I paid EFCC 15 million naira, and that I was never in prison… I didn’t pay any EFCC money, which is a very big lie. I served my term in full, and I came out. Discard any false information.”

Origins of the Drama: Unpaid Debt

The accusations stem from a previous dispute between Bobrisky and Verydarkman, with the latter accusing the cross-dresser of failing to repay a N4 million debt borrowed from a friend. VDM has been vocal on social media about Bobrisky’s alleged fraudulent behavior, leading to the current public feud.

Social Media Reactions to the Drama

The controversy has sparked significant reactions across social media platforms, with users chiming in on the allegations:

  • @sammy_ony_: “Oh ok, you didn’t pay EFFC but you paid EFCC? 😂”
  • @aj_frames_oflagos: “Some mumu go still believe say na fake call ooo … 😂😂😂.”
  • @divine_josiah_01: “You go explain, explain, but no evidence, my brother.”
  • @fridayjoseph55: “More evidence full ground. I trust VDM. 😂”
  • @chioma_speaks: “VDM coming with receipts! Bobrisky can’t escape this one.”
  • @dave_smoothoperator: “The truth will always come out, no matter how hard one tries to hide it.”
  • @efcc_watchdog: “If this is true, we need a serious reform in EFCC. No one should be able to buy their way out of justice.”

Investigation Ongoing

The EFCC’s commitment to investigating the matter has put the public on alert, as many await the results. The bribery allegations not only affect Bobrisky’s image but also raise questions about the EFCC’s credibility in handling high-profile financial crime cases.

This article elaborates on the key claims and developments, providing insights into the accusations, responses, and public reactions surrounding Bobrisky’s alleged N15 million bribe to the EFCC. The investigation into the claims will reveal the truth behind these explosive allegations, leaving many eager to see the outcome.
