VeryDarkman: Billionaire Okoya’s Son Must Answer for Naira Abuse
Popular social media activist Vincent Martins Otse, widely called Verydarkman, has demanded that billionaire businessman Razak Okoya’s son, Raheem Okoya, be immediately arrested for defacing the naira.
This demand followed the viral video that showed Raheem Okoya molesting a currency, in the view of a uniformed policeman. In the video, the officer held the bundle of cash while Okoya flexxing and spraying the money.
Although the police officer captured in the video has reportedly been arrested and detained for his role in the incident, most of the things done by Raheem Okoya remain untouched by the authorities.
In the aftermath of the video’s propagation and continuous online outcry, Raheem Okoya apologized to Nigerians, claiming ignorance of the consequences of his actions.
He writs, “To the Nigerian people, what I did wasn’t meant to cause any trouble or harm; the intention was innocent and naive. I plead for your pardon and support in this matter as I never intended to raise such an alarm. I really wasn’t totally cognizant of the repercussions of my action.”
In a video published on the page, Verydarkman reacted to the viral video by questioning why Okoya has, till now, escaped the long hand of the law despite his involvement in the incident.
VeryDarkMan also condemned a situation where Okoya would be exempted from facing the law simply because of his social status or wealth. In his video, he stated that no matter who abuses, the law must apply equally to them. In this case, he pointed out that one side was arrested and is being held accountable, while at the same time Raheem Okoya is free.
