Following the announcement of his funeral and arrival of the remains of the deceased president, political big guns including Peter Obi, Shettima, President Tinubu, General Abubakar, Deputy senate president, among others have not hesitated to share insights into the life and administration of the former president however, some others have criticked the late president over some of his administration’s shortcomings.

Following this was the IPOB’s response stating that the announcement of former president Buhari’s death had come as a vindication for its leader Nnamdi Kanu.

Recall that Kanu had stated earlier that President Buhari had died since 2017 and that an impostor, Jibril, a native of Niger republic was allegedly smuggled in to replace Buhari.

Similarly former presidential aide to Buhari, Garba Shehu had made a striking statement that stirred controversy during his book launch over the weekend when he stated that the story of rat infesting the Aso Rock was a cover-up story to hide the late president’s deteriorating health.

In 2017, a report was released stating that African leaders had allegedly observed a minute silence for Buhari in an AU Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The report read ” African Union Heads of State and Government have observed a minutes’s silence in the memory of late Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday during the 28th ordinary session of AU Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Former Chadian President Idriss Deby Itno

“During the official opening session of the AU Summit, Chadian President Idriss Deby Itno, the incumbent AU President, invited the African leaders to observe a minute’s silence in the memory of “our late brother,” the Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari.”

In more recent events, there has been a tweet circulating social media that was tweeted from the alleged handle of the former first lady, Aisha Buhari where she stated that the person who was proclaimed dead yesterday is not her husband and Aisha kept quiet for so long.

What is the possibility of the conspiracy theory? Is there an ounce of truth that the late President had died since 2017 and because of the powers that be and the level of corruption that has eaten deep into our system, it was concealed from the populace and we’re only just getting to find out?
