The approval was announced by the Minister of Transportation, Said Alkali, on Wednesday after a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting chaired by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Where Will the Terminals Be Located?

One terminal will be built in each of the six geopolitical zones. The chosen cities are:

    Abeokuta (South-West)

    Gombe (North-East)

    Kano (North-West)

    Lokoja (North-Central)

    Onitsha (South-East)

    Warri (South-South)

    Why is This Project Important?

According to the Minister, the current lack of organized bus terminals has contributed to problems like crime and road accidents. He said these new terminals will create safe and orderly hubs for travelers, improving the entire road transport system. This is the first major federal project of its kind focused on improving bus transport infrastructure.
