Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja to discuss pressing issues affecting the state.

According to a statement from the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the closed-door meeting centered on security, major infrastructure projects, and enhancing collaboration between Kano State and the Federal Government.
Governor Yusuf briefed President Tinubu on the serious challenges facing Kano, particularly the rising insecurity in several local government areas. He highlighted the recent tragic killing of a housewife and her children, emphasizing the urgent need for strong federal support to strengthen security and protect residents.
He also outlined how the Kano State Neighbourhood Watch Corps is assisting security agencies and called for closer cooperation with federal security bodies.

On development, Governor Yusuf shared his administration’s plans for major infrastructure projects. He specifically thanked the President for federal intervention on Wujuwuju Road, describing it as a vital step toward boosting economic growth and creating jobs.
Additionally, the governor requested the President’s support to accelerate federal projects in Kano and ensure the state maximizes benefits from federal programmes and investments.
President Tinubu, in response, assured Governor Yusuf that the Federal Government is committed to working with Kano State to tackle insecurity and promote sustainable development.
