Unidentified gunmen believed to be kidnappers have abducted former Ward Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Boriya–Shiya Ward, Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State, Abubakar Sise.
The incident was reported to have taken place in the early hours of Thursday.

Ojo Adekimi, the State Commissioner of Police, said on Friday afternoon that he was unaware of the occurrence but promised to look into it.
According to reports, the gunmen stormed the facility at approximately midnight, scaring the occupants with many gunshots.
Locals claimed that the abductors stopped one of Sise’s sons as he was making his late-night return home.

Bullet shells and several live rounds were reportedly discovered strewn about the facility by morning, indicating that multiple bullets had been fired to discourage resistance.
The episode, which lasted barely a few minutes before the shooters escaped, was alarming but brief, according to locals.

In an attempt to locate the perpetrators and save the victim, the local vigilante team in Boriya was promptly notified and started investigating the nearby areas.
As of the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of Sise remain unknown.
