BREAKING: Horror in Benue as Herdsmen Storm Community, Kidnap Women, Torch Market

Suspected armed herdsmen on Friday afternoon attacked Anwase Market in Mbaikyor, Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State, abducting several market women and setting the market ablaze.

According to witnesses, the assailants entered the village from a nearby mountain, fired intermittently to incite fear, then set stalls on fire and kidnapped women.

Before security forces reached the scene, the attackers reportedly swept the victims off towards the mountainous region, according to information obtained by sources.

An eyewitness told our correspondent that the market was already engulfed in flames by the time residents could organise a response, adding that many traders fled in different directions to escape the attack.
