The charge is being filed before the Abuja High Court, placing the senior advocate at the center of a high-profile corruption case that is now drawing the media’s attention.

In a three count charge filed by the ICPC lawyer, Osuobeni Akponimisingha, the commission accuses Ozekhome of involvement in acts that allegedly amount to large-scale corruption. The case, marked FCT/HC/CR/010/26 and filed on January 16, 2026, names Mike Ozekhome as the sole defendant.

According to the ICPC, Ozekhome allegedly receives a property known as House 79, Randall Avenue, London NW2 7SX, in August 2021. The commission claims the property was given to him by one Mr. Shani Tali, an act it describes as a felony under the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act 2000.

The second count alleges that Mike Ozekhome SAN makes a false document while acting as a legal practitioner. ICPC claims he used a fake Nigerian passport bearing the name of Mr. Shani Tali with the intention of using it to support ownership claims over the London property.

In the third count, the commission accuses Ozekhome of dishonestly using the same passport as a genuine document. The ICPC states that he knows the passport is fake but still relies on it to assert ownership of the property located at 79 Randall Avenue, London NW2 7SX.

To support the case, the ICPC attached several exhibits, including a judgment dated September 11, 2025, and an extrajudicial statement allegedly made by the defendant on January 12, 2026. Other documents include interim forfeiture proceedings on the London property, a letter dated December 18, 2025, and a data page of Shani Tali’s passport.

Other witnesses named include Ebenezer Nduo and Blessing Monokpo, both investigators with the ICPC, alongside additional witnesses that may be summoned through subpoenas.
