The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission(ICPC), on Thursday raided the residence of former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir Nasir El-Rufai.
Muyiwa Adekeye, his media assistant, revealed the situation on Thursday.

The action was denounced as “unlawful and a clear violation of legal procedures and fundamental rights” by El-Rufai’s attorney, Ubong Akpan.
The post reads: “The residence of Malam Nasir @elrufai was today searched by the ICPC.”
Ubong Akpan, Malam El-Rufai’s lawyer, condemned the action “as unlawful and a clear violation of legal procedures and fundamental rights.”

This move comes barely 24 hours after the ICPC confirmed on Thursday that El-Rufai had been detained and currently in its custody, following his arrest and release from EFCC and subsequently the DSS custody the previous day.
Recall that the former governor was taken into custody by Department of State Services (DSS) agents immediately after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) granted him bail on Wednesday.

The former Kaduna governor was reportedly picked up by DSS agents after being granted EFCC bail in relation to accusations that he illegally intercepted National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu’s phone conversations.
