The names were contained in a statement issued by the electoral body and obtained on Monday.

The bye-election is scheduled to be held on Saturday, August 16, following the death of the immediate past occupant of the seat, Hon. Musliudeen Olaide Akinremi.

Akinremi, who was serving a second term under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, died in July last year.

INEC had earlier indicated that nineteen political parties signalled interest in contesting the election.

However, the commission has now released the final list featuring five candidates representing their respective political parties.
