Iran has consented to a two-week reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, stated that his nation also consented to “suspend defensive operations” in exchange for an end to Israeli and American assaults.
“For a period of two weeks, safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be possible via coordination with Iran’s Armed Forces and with due consideration of technical limitations,” Araghchi said on Tuesday night.

“If attacks against Iran are halted, our powerful armed forces will cease their defensive operations.”
According to Iran’s top national security council, the US must agree to the conditions in its 10-point plan for the war to cease.
“It is emphasised that this(ceasefire agreement) does not mean the end of the war, and Iran will only accept the end of the war when, in addition to accepting the principles outlined in the 10-point plan, the details are finalised in negotiations,” the security council said.
PAKISTAN AS MEDIATOR
The security council has announced that talks with the United States will take place in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad.

Trump identified Pakistan as the main mediator in the US-Israeli dispute with Iran in his Truth Social post announcing the ceasefire.
The US president said that before the conditional ceasefire agreement, he had discussions with Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan.
“Based on conversations with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, of Pakistan, and wherein they requested that I hold off the destructive force being sent tonight to Iran, and subject to the Islamic Republic of Iran agreeing to the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks,” Trump wrote.
Reacting to to the ceasefire agreement, the Paskitan PM said “both parties have displayed remarkable wisdom and understanding”

“We earnestly hope, that the ‘Islamabad Talks’ succeed in achieving sustainable peace and wish to share more good news in coming days,” he added.
10-POINT PLAN
The 10-point plan calls for Iran to maintain its authority over the Strait of Hormuz and for the United States to promise not to repeat its “aggression” against Iran.
Other elements of the proposal include the relaxation of all sanctions, the evacuation of US combat forces from the area, the approval of uranium enrichment, and the payment of compensation.

Iran, on the other hand, is reportedly entirely committed to refraining from pursuing nuclear weapons.
