Ireti Kingibe Clinches ADC FCT Senate Ticket

Ahead of the 2027 general election, the African Democratic Congress(ADC), has announced Senator Ireti Kingibe as its flag bearer for the Federal Capital Territory senatorial polls.

This comes after Kingibe secured a landslide victory in the party’s primary election, polling 17,535 votes to defeat her sole challenger, Mubarak Tijjani, who garnered 806 votes.

At the ADC secretariat in Abuja, Abubakar Adamu, chairman and returning officer for the Senate and House of Representatives primaries, announced the results and confirmed Kingibe’s victory.

In addition, the primary election produced candidates for the two FCT House of Representatives seats.

Bala Iyah won the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency with 4,937 votes, while Ma’aji Johnson Bello secured 1,546 votes, Yahaya Fatima Goya polled 2,015, and Ismaila Ishak Ozigi received 105 votes.

Alhassan Salihu secured the party’s ticket for the Abaji/Gwagwalada/Kwali/Kuje Federal Constituency with 9,016 votes, while Khalid A. Haruna received 2,955 votes.

INEC also monitored the conduct of the primaries.

Speaking after his victory, Bala Iyah expressed optimism in the ADC’s chances in the 2027 elections. He further described himself as a grassroots politician with deep knowledge of the constituency and strong support from the people.
